Howdy, friends. Sorry if I haven’t returned your emails. I am wiped out. Bad fibromyalgia spell (damn disease — come on science, Mommy needs a cure!). Well, I’ll get caught up soon. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends lately, and that sure doesn’t help with crapomyalgia.
In the meantime, the Alli and David Bachelorette/Bachelor party was a great success. Thanks, everyone, for your help — from Janay and all her cool decor to Malinda who had my back on the Korean/Cajun potluck detail to “Benjamina” of the Trophy Room to Seth, who brought the house down with his stylin’ threads and Newlywed Game questions. A good time was had by all, and now our lovely couple will be able to marry with all oats sewn.
Everyone brought them a good bottle of wine. I put together what will probably win the Beneather award for “Movie of the Year” (not a dry eye in the house). And we all said our toasts to the lovebirds. Alli and David lost the Newlywed Game (yet won the boobie prize, a bottle of Night Train). Ben jumped out of a box and did a dance for the crowd. And the couple each got a special “self-help” book. When David read a few lines from his, Flack cracked me up from the peanut gallery yelling, “Don’t come to reading day at my kid’s school.”
Jodi, your cake was a hit! Ben (who is all Mr. Atkins diet) and I gorged on the leftovers the day after and, about 7 p.m. Sunday, Hot Sauce and McLain come knocking on the door giving sad eyes, asking if we had any cake. We had to admit that we didn’t. It was a pitiful to see our friends so devastated. We’ll have to make it up to them. (Anyway, here are a few more shots. Keith and Anne, thanks for the other pics. I got them last night.)
(Why, yes, I am available to do freelance portraiture.)
