I gained another pound this week. I stared at that sentence for a full three minutes before I could think of what to say about that. I got nothing. I rehabbed my hip on the elliptical and bike this week for , working up from 25 to 35 minutes. I got three such workouts in. It feels , but stairs or putting all my weight on one foot hurts. I did two strength sessions, and after Monday’s which was largely lower body, my hip hurt, but overall it was . The important thing is that I’m back to lifting weights, which is a wonderful hurdle to be over. So, thinking about my rehab workout schedule, I still work out more than most people I know, and I still gained.

I have been thinking about that for awhile. Last Friday, I talked about letting skinny go. I have to. So where does that leave me? My doctor has signed off on my good health. My last fitness assessment puts my 2max with that of some elite athletes, my flexibility is above average, but my upper body strength still needs work. My resting heart rate is in the 50s, my body fat is in the healthy range. Casey asked, what is the point of trying to lose more weight. He understands trying to get fitter, but when a person is already healthy, what is the point? I never aspired to be a size 8 when I started this. I thought if I ended up a size 12, I’d be good. But I got to a size 10, and now I want to be an 8. Why? No one will know but me. I’m 5′8″. I have a big head, bigger hair, and a big smile. Does smallness even suit me?

I feel like I have to have a number though. Here are some I’m kicking around:

  • Stay where I’m at. 169 today and I can’t believe I just put that out there for the world. I got down to 162 this winter. I usually weigh in between 166 and 169. 169 when I’m PMS- and eat half a bag of reduced fat the night before weigh in because I am a RETARD. But this puts me outside of a healthy and outside of the recommended max for Weight Watchers.
  • Get down to 165 - officially healthy
  • Get down to 164 - top of the WW chart for all people
  • Get down to 158 - recommended WW max for all people age 25 to age 45
  • Get down to 149 - So I have some wiggle room for inevitable age related weight gain. It’s also below 150, so I don’t have to move the big weight on the doctor’s scale over as much.
  • Get down to 147 - So I have some wiggle room below the 149 goal.

I don’t know who I’m trying to convince. Me I guess. I need some convincing.
