A Day For Me! |

Ok, so it’s Mother’s Day. I never really got all sentimental last year, maybe because it was only 7 months, and the baby wasn’t scheduled to pop out anytime soon. But this year, wow. Big change! I got all choked up this morning reading baby’s card, and then again when she fell asleep after a car ride. I know it’s not hormones, but just the “She’s almost 1year old! It went so fast!” feeling.
I had a nice Mom’s weekend. We took a car ride to see my parents yesterday (Gas prices don’t really affect us when we budget for our gas in paid-for cars!) and then my husband ran in a 5K with his little niece Brittany, who is 9. They did it for “Girls On The Run” which is actually pretty cool! (Wish they had something like this for me when I was a kid!) She ran it in 34:34 and is not a runner, so that is pretty good for not much practice! He’s actually suiting up now for a 6.4 mile out and back to his sisters, so his half-marathon training is beginning.
I am excited: next month Baby turns 11 months, and say what you want… I am going to start Nutrisystem. I can’t wait! She’s eating solids and less interested in nursing these days. SHE LOVES FOOD. I think we’re really close to weaning at the 12 month mark. That makes me sad and excited at the same time. I really am getting tired of pumping and constantly having my morning exercise routine interrupted with nursing. I know that sounds really selfish, and maybe it is, but if I could just have a solid hour in the morning to workout, I’d probably be more consistent. Now that my hubby is training with weights again, that leaves Tuesday and Thursday mornings for an outside 5k run. I *really* need to do that.
I figured out that my nutrisystem goal is 30 lbs. Still, 40 would be awesome.
Baby has awakened! I must go see what is going on, as I hear.. “OmmmmmmmEEEEE. Ommmmmeeeee.”
Gotta love it!
Happy Mom’s day to all you moms out there!
