Thanks for all your comments and suggestions on the hip pain I’m having….Took another 4 ibuprophen last night at bedtime and actually slept for about 3 hour stretches…If not to get up and visit the toity three times - I might have slept all night! Got to lay off the water in the evenings!! Ater my knee surgery late last September - my ortho doc told me I have Grade 3 arthritis (the worst) in my knees…and I should consider a glucosamine supplement….If he hadn’t told me - I wouldn’t know I had arthritis….He thinks I must have a high tolerence for pain…! But seriously, unless I’ve injured a knee, I still wouldn’t know I had arthritis there…I KNOW that one day I’ll be VERY aware of it! As far as the hips go, these last several days has been particularly tough….and it’s not in the upper part of the hip below the waist….the pain is in the front pelvic hip area….but it IS easing up….so that’s a good thing! I will be taking your advice and doing some good stretches and strengthening exercises but not till after the pain eases up considerably. Had a fairly high sodium and carb day yesterday but still under 1400 calories….so I consider the day a success….no change on the scales today….perhaps by week’s end….! Will be another crazy busy day today in the office….Another week and all of our new product for the season will be processed in and on the floors of the galleries….and things will be a bit more *normal* for me and I can focus on the other things that get put on the back burner while I’m so busy processing and entering to inventory all the new items…. I hope you ALL have a really successful day and work hard to keep the focus we are all learning about in this quest for a healthier lifestyle….Have a GREAT day….huggggs
at the peak of my pregnancy, i weighed in at 198lbs and felt so miserable. i really should have taken care of myself more. this entry marks the journey back to my original weight of 125. my son is now 14 months old and i have made so many excuses of not being able to have time to work out. it also doesn’t help that eating smaller portions isn’t so effective. a friend of mine swears by the south beach diet and i’m willing to give a try. it seems to make sense, and above diet options out there, it seems to be the most feasible to work with. here marks the journey back! no more excuses! no more flabby dimply thighs. no more double chin and sagging jelly belly!
The weekend with my husband’s parents went well. I was able to stay healthy all weekend, even in restaurants (all serving beautiful salads at the moment) except last night when we went to a Jazz festival and had a picnic, one that I prepared - I was planning on preparing myself a chicken salad to eat while the others preferred sandwiches. My parents in law requested their sandwiches on baguette instead of the whole grain slices I had planned, so I prepared them special sandwiches. The rest were on sliced country bread. At the last minute one of our guests had to cancel so we had an extra sliced bread sandwich - which I just packed instead of preparing my separate salad. The rest of the group had chips and shortbread cookies as well as a small cheese course. I just had the sandwich and opted out of the chips and cookies, although I did drink my wine! I felt guilty about the sandwich although the mayonnaise in it was home made so I know it contained no sugar. I spiced it up with espelette chili peppers and sesame oil so I really didn’t have to use much at all in the chicken salad. Overall, I think I made good choices although this week I will not have any more wine. I’ll weigh in tomorrow.
