My biggest challenge these days are handling stress and changes to routine and managing to stick to the plan. We signed on the new house and although I did manage to make pretty good choices over the weekend, on the way back, I caved in. The weekend was great, I refurbished the rusted wood burning stove, we slept in hammocks, painted the kitchen, sanded, and I treated the wood beams in the bathroom of the house. It was cold and I’m sure I burned off lots of weight just shivering at night. I managed to keep away from the potatoes that I boiled for a raclette, and we ate pretty healthy foods all weekend. On the way home, we stopped at a grill and I got a wood fire grilled steak. That came with fries, and I’m sorry to say I ate them, with mustard and salt. We then had friends come in from out of town and I popped a few treats in my mouth here and there while socializing, but it wasn’t a splurge fest. The main problem came yesterday when I took them to a local ice cream place and ordered a sundae. All afternoon I felt sugared out. Time to clamp down, time to get this sugar out of my system. I still have about 50 pounds to go and I can’t use every change of routine to give me an excuse to eat badly.
