My apologies for being a bit awol these last couple of weeks! Alas, I haven’t forgotten you all but been a bit busy with one thing and another. But hope that you’ve all been having a great couple of weeks… I’ve missed catching up, so will come check up on you all shortly. Hubby and I had a lovely kid free few days last weekend from Friday to Sunday. Our youngest two boys went to an activity centre with the school, while our eldest son went to stay with grandparents. It was absolute bliss and just Sooooo peaceful without having to contend with fighting or arguments! We had a lovely meal out on the Friday… hence my weigh-in on the Friday instead of Saturday! By the Sunday the scales had hiked to 131.7lbs, but thankfully had started to go back down again by Monday… despite the huge piece of victoria sandwich sponge cake I had at Saltram House last Sunday! Well, still going down here… 129.6lbs today… so just slow in preparation for maintaining shortly. Interestingly I’m still eating way above my WW daily recommended points target, including flex-points. I have a feeling though that its not the points that are so relevant… but eating more wholesome foods. That’s not a problem most of the times, as I no longer like many foods that I used to eat! Can’t believe I’d ever say that… but I find it quite fascinating how our tastes can change so much! Still need to keep with doing exercise… but at least I did some this week. The summer holidays are about to start here, so I will be off work until early September — ooh, yippee!! So there will be no excuses for not fitting in exercise… I’ll perhaps even have to try doing a morning session! So many things that I want to do this summer though… like concentrate on rebuilding my family history website. I’ve had fun this week playing with the free open source MySQL database (hmm, is that really fun??!!)… next quest to feed data to a webpage. Alas, big learning curve, but I love learning new things and anything that challenges me. So that will keep me entertained in my spare time during the holidays. Hubby is home for 4 weeks of it too… so fingers crossed for some decent weather for exploring! Anyways, hope that you’ve all been having a great couple of weeks and have a nice weekend. :o)
Earlier this week I discovered that I had gained 3 pounds. On top of the already unacceptable 5 pounds that I have gained since January. Needless to say I was grouchy as hell.
This morning I woke up and those three pounds were gone. I’m not sure if it’s like a mirage on the scale, or real, but it made me less grouchy. Way.
Maybe because I didn’t drink every night this week with dinner. Or that I stopped having peanut butter on chocolate as a meal. I did create a wonderful bit of trailer park cuisine, that probably helped me along. It’s called the Modified Little Bit. Modified from a drunken recipe concoction made with SuSu years ago.
Two Wasa Crackers
Two Laughing Cow Light Spreadable Cheese Triangles
Bacon Bits
This is ghetto people, but it is good. And it’s hardly any points on Weight Watchers (which I only do when I’m being good. ha.). I recommend it.
Last night we went out for sushi….first time in about a month. I was a bit worried because I have a tendency to over-indulge in Samurai’s amazing pink lady rolls (cream cheese and all!). I did really well tho! I can’t really record exactly what I ate, but I was conscious of what I was putting in my mouth the entire time and stuck with the cucumber salad, some sashimi, a piece of the American and a piece of the Pink Lady. I probably went a bit over my points for the day with the sake nigiri, but I’ve been sticking to my plan pretty closely for the past 3 weeks, so I’m not feeling too upset with myself I actually look at it as a success. On to the next challenge…
